PyQt v4 is licensed under the GNU GPL and under a commercial license for all platforms.

An evaluation version of PyQt v4 for Windows can be obtained by contacting sales@riverbankcomputing.co.uk.

PyQt v3 is licensed under the GNU GPL (for UNIX, Linux and MacOS/X) and under a commercial license (for all platforms).

You can purchase the commercial version of PyQt here.

Before you can build PyQt from source you must have already built and installed SIP.

We provide PyQt in source form for UNIX, Linux and MacOS/X. We also provide the GPL version of PyQt v4 as a Windows installer. This contains everything needed for PyQt development including Qt itself.

Source Packages

Note that we only test against the latest stable version of Python and the latest stable version of Qt. However, we would like to hear of any problems found with other versions.

The binary installer for Windows contains everything needed for PyQt development except for Python itself.
